We have not known Thee as we ought, 我們不夠認識祢，像我們應該的那樣，
Nor learned Thy wisdom, grace, and power; 也不夠瞭解祢的智慧、恩典和能力；
The things of earth have filled our thought, 這世上的事物，以及過去的瑣事，
And trifles of the passing hour. 充滿了我們的思想。
Lord, give us light Thy truth to see, 主啊！賜下亮光，使我們得見袮的真理，
And make us wise in knowing Thee. 使我們有智慧來認識袮。
We have not feared Thee as we ought, 我們不夠敬畏祢，像我們應該的那樣，
Nor bowed beneath Thine awful eye, 也不夠降服在祢可畏的眼光下，
Nor guarded deed, and word, and thought, 也沒有看守我們的行為、言語和思想，
Remembering that God was nigh. 記得我們的神就在附近。
Lord, give us faith to know Thee near, 主啊！賜下信心，使我們知道祢就在不遠，
And grant the grace of holy fear. 並賜下神聖敬畏祢的恩典。
We have not loved Thee as we ought, 我們不夠愛祢，像我們應該的那樣，
Nor cared that we are loved by Thee; 也不夠在意，我們是被祢所愛的；
Thy presence we have coldly sought, 對祢的同在，我們的尋求冷淡，
And feebly longed Thy face to see. 對見祢的容顏，我們的渴望微弱。
Lord, give a pure and loving heart 主啊！賜下單一愛祢的心，
To feel and own the love Thou art. 來感受並擁有愛一祢就是愛。
We have not served Thee as we ought; 我們不夠服事袮，像我們應該的那樣，
Alas! the duties left undone, 啊呀！責任沒有完成，
The work with little fervor wrought, 只有一點工作熱情，
The battles lost, or scarcely won! 爭戰總是失敗，幾乎不曾得勝!
Lord, give the zeal, and give the might, 主啊！賜下熱情，賜下能力，
For Thee to toil, for thee to fight. 為祢辛勞，為祢爭戰。
When shall we know Thee as we ought, 何時我們認識祢、敬畏祢、愛祢並正確的
And fear, and love, and serve aright? 服事祢，像我們應該的那樣?
When shall we, out of trial brought, 何時，我們從試煉中出來，
Be perfect in the land of light? 成為完全，站在光明之地?
Lord, may we day by day prepare 主啊！願我們日復一日地預備
To see Thy face, and serve Thee there. 見祢的榮面，並在那地服事祢。
Amen. 阿們！

天路歷程，唉！真的不是容易走的。
以為得勝了，轉眼又失敗了！
好似「看破紅塵」，轉眼又墮入網羅！
怎會如此？！
原來「我不夠認識祢，像我應該的那樣！」
原來「我不夠敬畏祢，像我應該的那樣！」
原來「我不夠愛慕祢，像我應該的那樣！」原來「我不夠事奉祢，像我應該的那樣！」
主耶穌啊！求祢容我屈膝在祢面前，「仰望為我們信心創始成終的主—耶穌基督」。
祈求父神管教我、鞭打我，讓我曉得我不是「私子」，仍然是主所愛的、所收納的兒子。
